Free tool

Verify any email address without leaving the page.

A small, open-source Chrome/Edge extension: check an address from the toolbar, or right-click one selected on any page.

How to install it

It's plain source files, loaded directly by the browser - no build step, no account needed to try it.

  1. Download or clone the browser-extension folder from GitHub.
  2. Open chrome://extensions (or the Edge/Brave/Opera equivalent) and turn on Developer mode.
  3. Click Load unpacked and select the folder you downloaded.
  4. Click the extension's icon, open its Options, and paste an API key from your account's Developers page - a sandbox key is fine for trying it out.

Questions

Is this on the Chrome Web Store?
Not yet - it's open source and installs in under a minute through Chrome's (or Edge's, or Brave's) built-in developer mode, which is the same mechanism any Chromium browser offers for installing an extension from source rather than the store.
Is it safe to install this way?
Yes - "Load unpacked" just points your browser at a local folder of source files you downloaded yourself; nothing is hidden or compiled. The extension's own source is public, and it only ever sees an email address you explicitly typed or selected - no page content is read automatically.
Does it cost anything?
The extension itself is free. It uses your EMCHEQ API key, so checks draw from your account's existing plan the same way any other API call does - a free-plan key works for testing.
What can it do?
Type an address into the toolbar popup, or select one on any page and right-click "Verify with EMChEQ" - a result shows up as a desktop notification a few seconds later.
