**Is this email verifier free?**

**Does it send an email to the address?**
No. It checks DNS and, where the receiving server allows it, asks whether it would accept mail. No message is delivered.

**What does Unknown mean?**
The checks could not reach a confident conclusion, usually because the receiving server would not answer. Unknown is reported as a real result and never folded into invalid.
